There's not been much activity on the hobby or blog front over the last month or so with this and that and baby sitting duties. Even so I managed to get this new project underway. Peter Pig do a lovely range of AWI figures and I've been collecting them for a few years now. When the French came out I had the motivation to get started on the project.
I decided on painting up the first batch as the Guadeloupe Regiment (Packs 109 - French colonial advancing & 110 - French colonial command). These are based up for Peter Pigs Washington's Army rules.
I couldn't find any info on the Guadeloupe drummers jacket so painted it as a standard French drummer - intending to repaint as and when details are found.
I went a bit OTT with the grass tufts on these bases but on the next regiment I'll do more static grass and less tufts.
Thanks for taking the time to look.
lovely white and blue contrast painting on these fine looking figures - top notch work Dan!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Love the cockades on their hats. I completely forgot that Peter Pig made AWI figures!
ReplyDeleteLovely work Dan! :)
ReplyDeleteThe figures really do pop. Well done!
ReplyDeleteVery nice unit, I wouldn't worry about the tufts they really set the base off .
ReplyDeleteRegards Furphy .
These minis are beautiful, sir, 'et c'est un Français qui vous le dit!'
ReplyDeleteVery nice Continental troops. Makes me reminisce of the Airfix figs I had so many years ago.
ReplyDeleteWe all need a bit of variety occasionally and these look just the ticket.
ReplyDeleteThanks all - much appreciated.
