The NSL troops are finally finished and they need some armour support. I chose two different types for some variety. I decided to airbrush both of these and I m quite happy with the end result even though I haven't used an airbrush in about eight years and the 25 year old compressor still worked fine.
First up is an 8 legged walker MBT with a big gun! The kit comes with three gun options.
The second vehicle is a Cougar Main Battle Tank (tracked) and again it came with three gun options - not sure what gun I've gone with but I like the look of it.
And here's a picture of the two side-by-side.
The only issue I have is with the ariels. I used thin wire but they've kinked to easy. Next time I'll either go for a thicker wire or melt a plastic sprue.
Thanks for taking a look
Looking good Dan! :)
ReplyDeleteI think that looks like a rail gun on the Cougar.
For the aerials, what I did was buy a pack of washing up brushes from the pound shop and used bristles from one of them. They're flexible, take acrylic paint well and won't draw blood if you accidentally press down with your palm or finger.
Thanks for heads up Tamsin. I searched for rail gun and I'm impressed - no gunpowder and a speed of mach 7.
DeleteAs for the aerials - good call. I'll try that.
Dan
I use fishing line for mine - I picked some up in Lidl for cheap a while ago and it may do me the rest of my mini building life!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion - I've a couple of redundant reels so I may well try that too.

Very cool, Dan. I do like that walker. Seems to be something with some realistic potential.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean - have liked walkers since Star Wars AT-AT's though this is a lot smaller!
DeleteGreat job Dan! Tamsin's suggestion for aerials is a great one. Works perfect every time.
