A couple of years back I painted up a 15mm Essex Viking army. I was happy enough with the bulk of the army but the commanders base didn't seem to have the right look to it as you can see below.
I picked up a packet of Donnington New Era Viking command at show over a year ago but with the drilling of hands etc I put it on the back burner.
This was on my list of things to do this year and I've just finished it.
First up the Essex version
and now the New Era version
and both together
As you can see I decided to raise the ground so the command seem to be overlooking the rest of the troops.
Thanks for taking the time to view.
Dan
Looks real good.

Very, very nice - I thought 28mm at first I have a new found appreciation of well painted 15mm (as these are), after painting up my first recently. Dean

ReplyDeleteDan,

Very well done, Dan! I love the composition of the new command stand. They've got a proper shield wall going and the tufts look great too.
ReplyDeleteI just finished some command stands and it can be a bit tricky squeezing all of the figs on in a way that looks good. You nailed it. Now I need to find your other FoG armies!
